It is a journey of exploration, not merely to appreciate the superficial beauty of a garment, visible to the naked eye, but to uncover its latent beauty and enhance its allure through imagination and creation

Why this project
I was inspired by a lot of the clothing brands that I am interested in, Artisanal fashion brands refer to certain brands that produce handmade clothing as the ethos of their garment engineering. These brands go beyond handmade brands as they meticulously source or create specific materials needed to create clothing items. For example, the designer of Archivio J.M Ribot, Karim Fares was an avid antique textile collector which is used as the foundation of his brand, every piece made by the brand uses antique 20th-century textiles and buttons, using natural decay and wear of the fabrics and reinterpreting it in the designs of modern day.
Another philosophy of Karim Fares is that while the clothes are listed on boutiques that carry them, it is not allowed to be purchased online, show the price online, or the photos of the item as he encourages the consumer to see it in person.
The artisans aim to create intentional engagement through their brands. This approach involves pushing the boundaries of traditional fashion norms, exploring innovative materials, and redefining conventional garment construction. The result displays a dynamic relationality between the wearer and the piece of clothing.
How Might We
Recognize and rediscover what are the wearer’s experience when interacting with garments
Uncover the beauty of clothing through this exploration, enabling us to take a moment to truly appreciate the garment

Workshop
I decided to host a mini workshop, focusing on creating experiences of clothing through co-design, co-design is “a participatory approach to designing solutions, in which community members are treated as equal collaborators in the design process”
The workshop was to collaborate to experience the process of dyeing a piece of clothing using everyday objects, we decided that we should dye it with coffee and sumi ink. Both of the dyes would be able to create an interesting color that is not created by using artificial clothing dye. This workshop allowed me to create more insights as an avenue to explore deeper.
