Memories are the ruins that remain after rationality has dissipated. What we miss and dare not say goodbye is just a giant illusion. The woman leaves without saying goodbye, and the man keeps searching for traces of what once was in the labyrinth of memories. In her disappearance, does she burn evidence of his former existence?
ARTIST STATEMENT
I’ve always been interested in trying to create films as anti-conventional as possible, and I like to break the rules to find interesting perspectives. I conceived this script under the influence of Shuji Terayama’s film work, I wanted to convey a kind of mood by being as non-narrative as possible. In other words, I don’t want to pre-direct the audience to think in the direction I plan. I want to infect the audience with my frames and let them feel my film for themselves. Human beings are not robots, so I think emotions and feelings can come up with many different perspectives.

FILMMAKER’S BIOGTAPHY
Orion Zhang is a Vancouver/Beijing-based filmmaker and Queer artist. His artworks focus on Queer and B&W street photography. Recently, he is working on couples of Queer comedy short films with black humour factors. With unique fortune-telling power, he is always invited to give suggestions or even play a role in some Low-Key style film with supernatural content. At that point, he will work further on this way, exploring the new connection between superpower and Queer comedy.
